“You have been temporarily banned from going LIVE”
TikTok has restricted the account's ability to start a LIVE stream, typically for a period of 24 hours to 7 days. This is a separate restriction from a full account suspension and only affects the LIVE feature. Other account functions (posting, commenting, DMs) remain active.
Common causes
- A previous LIVE stream violated Community Guidelines (prohibited products, dangerous stunts, restricted content)
- The account received reports from viewers during a LIVE stream
- TikTok Shop LIVE selling policy was violated (off-platform redirects, prohibited product demos)
- The account is new and hasn't met the minimum follower threshold for LIVE (1,000 followers in most regions)
How to fix it
Check your TikTok inbox
The inbox notification will specify the reason and the restriction end date. This determines whether appealing is worthwhile or waiting out the ban is faster.
Appeal through the inbox notification
If you believe the ban was applied in error, use the appeal option directly in the inbox notification. Be specific about what happened during the LIVE and why you believe it was compliant.
Review TikTok LIVE community guidelines
LIVE content is held to the same standards as posted videos. Review the specific rule cited in your notice before going LIVE again to avoid a second ban.
For TikTok Shop LIVE sellers: ensure all products are listed in your Shop
All products shown during a LIVE must be listed in your TikTok Shop. Never direct viewers to external purchase links during a LIVE — this is a policy violation that triggers restrictions.
Account health impact
A LIVE ban is a standalone restriction and does not directly lower your AHR score unless it was triggered by a severe content violation that also generated a strike.
