“This video is under review”
TikTok's automated system has flagged the video for human review before or after it goes live. The video may have limited distribution during this period. Most reviews complete within 24–48 hours — the video is either cleared and distributed normally, or removed with a violation notice.
Common causes
- The video contains keywords, sounds, or visual elements that match TikTok's automated flagging criteria
- The account has received previous violations, making new content subject to closer scrutiny
- The video was reported by users shortly after posting
- A health, financial, or political topic was mentioned in the caption or script
How to fix it
Wait
Most reviews resolve within 24 hours without any action needed. The review process runs on its own timeline — nothing you do speeds it up.
Do not delete and repost while the video is under review
Deleting and reposting does not speed up the process and may trigger a second flag on the reposted version. Leave the video in place while under review.
Check your inbox after 48 hours
If the review results in a removal, you will receive a notification with the reason and an appeal option. If you receive no notification after 48 hours, the video was cleared.
Frame future sensitive content more carefully
For videos in sensitive categories, avoid absolute claims ("this cures," "guaranteed," "100%"). These trigger automated flags even when the content itself is policy-compliant.
Account health impact
A video being under review does not affect your AHR score. Only if the review results in a removal and you receive a strike will your account health be affected.
